Mike's Discount Mowing

About Mike's Discount Mowing

Pendleton Pike hums from morning on, and just off it Lawrence unfolds into block after block of front lawns, each one asking for the same thing every seventh day in July. Mike's Discount Mowing runs those blocks — mow, trim, sweep the concrete, on to the next — starting early to get ahead of flat central-Indiana heat. Nothing elaborate about it: an even cut, corners not missed, the strip between sidewalk and curb given the same attention as the front yard. By the time the route loops back around, the first yards are ready again, and that steadiness is the entire idea. Grass grows on its own schedule here; the job is simply to meet it.
