Aaron's Lawn Care-Snow Removal

About Aaron's Lawn Care-Snow Removal

Irvington doesn't sit on a grid like the rest of Indianapolis -- its streets curve and double back the way the old interurban line once ran, lined with a century of oak and sycamore that hold their ice long after the sun clears the rest of the east side. A single truck threading those curves before seven has to know them by heart, because a plow blade set for a straight street catches every bend wrong. The porches along those blocks are close to the sidewalk, the walkways narrow and brick-edged, cleared by hand with a shovel rather than a machine that would just as easily take out a garden border. Ice tends to linger longest where the tree cover is thickest, in the shadowed dip near the old business district, so that stretch gets a second look before the morning is through. It is slow, careful work suited to a neighborhood that was never built for anything to move through it fast.
