Hope was laid out in 1830 as a Moravian settlement, and its town square still holds that shape — a circle of brick storefronts and a small park at the center, unusual for a farm town this size. Eagleson Meadows clears that square first on a snow morning, then works outward along the roads that lead toward the Flatrock River and the farmland surrounding Hope on every side. Bartholomew County winters here are steady rather than dramatic, a few inches at a time that pile up if nobody keeps ahead of them, and this crew treats every storm as one more layer to clear before it compacts into ice. Driveways get plowed to the gravel or the concrete underneath, walks get shoveled and salted, and the old depot street gets the same attention as the newer houses at the edge of town. There's something fitting about a crew clearing snow around a square laid out two centuries ago for a community meant to look after itself.
