About plata's lawn mowing services

Seven in the morning in July, and the dew is still silver across the front lawns off Kennedy Avenue while the day's heat waits somewhere over the prairie flats. plata's lawn mowing services starts there, in the cool, when the grass cuts cleanest and the stripes lay down bright across a whole block at once. The trimmer follows the fences, the beds and the tree rings; the walk gets cleared before the truck moves on. Hammond is level enough that a mowing line can run the length of a lot without a single correction, and there is quiet pleasure in seeing it do exactly that. By the time the sun is high, the street already looks like somebody has been through.
