Long's Tree Service

About Long's Tree Service

The mature trees around Greenwood's older streets and parks carry a lot of ice by January, branches glazed and bowing low enough to brush a car parked underneath, and Long's Tree Service knows exactly which limbs are likely to let go under that kind of weight. That same knowledge of a property's trees — where the canopy hangs over a driveway, where a branch has already cracked and just hasn't fallen yet — makes clearing the ground beneath them a natural extension of the work. A storm here means two jobs at once: plowing the drive itself and checking that nothing overhead is about to come down on it. Johnson County ice storms are harder on trees than snow ever is, coating every twig until a whole limb gives way overnight, and a driveway cleared in the morning can end up blocked again by noon. Long's crew treats both halves of that problem as one job, working the ground and keeping an eye on what's hanging above it.
