Most evenings when a system rolls in late, Hardscape Factory is still out on Greenwood driveways by headlight, working long after the paver patios out back have gone quiet for the season under whatever's falling. A paver surface holds frost differently than a poured slab — each stone its own small plate with a joint of sand underneath — and this crew knows that pattern well enough to clear a walk without popping a single paver loose. Most of what gets built in Greenwood's backyards each summer, the fire pits and seat walls and stone paths, sits buried and idle all winter, but the driveways attached to those same properties still need a clean pass after every storm. The blade takes the drive first, then the walk up to the door gets cleared by hand where a plow edge would catch a paver joint the wrong way. Johnson County winters aren't long on daylight, so a lot of this work happens under porch lamps, one property at a time, patio still buried under an even blanket exactly the way it should be while the drive and the walk to the door are bare.
