Williams Run takes its name from the narrow drainage that curls along its back lots, half-frozen by January most years, and the streets built around it need clearing before the first school bus turns in off the county road. The route here isn't complicated — one main loop feeding a handful of short streets — but it has to be done early, because half this neighborhood is walking kids to a bus stop before seven. Snow tends to bank up hardest where the run cuts closest to the road, catching drifts other parts of the subdivision don't see, so that stretch gets a second pass most storms. Most of Williams Run still has its porch lights off when this loop gets its first pass — curbs visible again, driveways opening onto a plowed street instead of a packed one. It's quiet, early work, done before most of Williams Run is even awake to see it happen.
