About Hancock Outdoor Services

October in Hancock County smells like dust and dry corn, and the combines throw a haze that hangs over the township roads until dark. Hancock Outdoor Services runs the last mows of the year in that light, then hands the whole operation over to leaves: off the lawn, out of the fence corners, away from the gravel drive aprons. Earlier in the year the same route is the weekly one, cut and trim and edge and blow the walks down. Properties out here have room, which means a long straight pass and the reward of watching the whole yard change behind you. When the first hard frost silvers the grass some morning in late autumn, these yards have already been put to bed.
