About Bedwell Outdoor Services

Fog settles into the Brandywine Creek bottoms most early-summer mornings in Greenfield and does not lift until the second or third yard of the day is behind you. Bedwell Outdoor Services starts in that gray quiet, dew heavy enough to darken a pair of boots by the first fence line. There is a plain pleasure in coming back past those same houses at noon and seeing a street cut to one height, edges opened along the drives, not a clipping left on the concrete. Creek-bottom ground grows thick and grows fast, so the route runs on the schedule the grass sets rather than the one on the calendar. In March the work is clearing winter off the turf; in November it is hauling the leaf load away before it packs down.
