A young Abraham Lincoln grew up in these Spencer County hills, and Gentryville, named for the pioneer settler James Gentry, still sits among the same rolling southern Indiana ground. Outback Lawn & Landscape looks after the town in both halves of the year. Through the humid summers it keeps lawns mowed and edged, holding the grass in line while cicadas buzz in the trees. When winter sends snow across the hills, the work turns to clearing drives and walks, so mornings begin with a path already open to the road. Lincoln once crossed this country on foot; today Gentryville's yards and driveways are kept ready for whatever the sky sends.
