Sully's Straight Lines

About Sully's Straight Lines

Gary is a city laid out on a grid, and Sully's Straight Lines works like it means to honor that. On June mornings, when the wind off Lake Michigan still carries a little cool from the dunes, the mowers roll out and the stripes go down true — parallel passes you can sight down like rails. It is mowing, trimming, and edging done with a surveyor's patience, one yard at a time until the whole block reads clean. A lawn cut this way changes how a street feels; corners sharpen, walks reappear, the green sits flat and even under that big lakeshore sky. From Gary out to the neighboring towns of Lake County, the aim is simple: lines you'd stop and look back at.
