About Jake Hauls Junk

Out past the grain elevator that still marks the edge of old Fortville, where the rail spur splits off toward the fields, Jake Hauls Junk keeps a truck running through the winter for the calls that come after a storm -- a fence panel down under the weight of ice, a dead limb blocking a drive, a pile of snow-soaked debris nobody wants to look at until spring. Snow removal here means clearing the way first: driveways and walkways plowed and shoveled so the rest of the property is reachable at all. Loads get hauled off the same day, not left to freeze into the ground over another cold snap. It's practical work for a practical corner of Hancock County, done at whatever hour the weather allows. Jake Hauls Junk runs routes through Fortville and out toward Charlottesville and Mt. Comfort.
