Summit spends its warm months laying out beds and walkways with an eye for how a property should read from the street, and that same sense of line shows up in a winter driveway — plowed square, edges straight, no ragged windrow left at the end of the apron. Fishers' newer streets were platted with curves and cul-de-sacs in mind, and a designer's instinct for how a space should look carries over once winter takes the color out of the yard. A storm here tends to arrive fast and quiet, piling up while a house is still dark, and the crew is usually working the drive before the porch light comes on. They finish by cutting the walk to the front door clean and clearing the mailbox apron, the same attention they'd give a new planting bed. By full daylight, the driveway reads as sharp-edged as any bed Summit ever cut into a lawn, only this time the lines are drawn in cleared blacktop.
