About Nature's First Choice Outdoor Services, LLC

The sycamores along the White River bottomland near Heritage Park grow huge because the ground there suits them — and that is the working theory here, too: give a lawn what its ground needs and it will do the rest. Nature's First Choice Outdoor Services builds turf from the soil up, with aeration and overseeding in the cool of early autumn, fertilization timed to the seasons, and mowing kept at a height that lets roots run deep. Fishers sits on heavy Indiana clay, and coaxing thick grass out of it is a craft of patience and timing. The payoff comes the following June, when the lawn shrugs off the heat. Work with what the place wants to do — that is the first choice, every time.
