About Loren's Service Center Inc

October in Elwood means grain trucks rumbling toward the elevator and maples letting go all at once, burying yards in a single windy afternoon. Loren's Service Center Inc runs on the practical rhythm its name suggests: when the leaves come down, the crew is there to take them up; when the growing season runs, the mowing runs with it. The work covers cutting, trimming, and the big seasonal cleanups that bookend an Indiana year — the spring rake-out and the fall haul-away that leaves a lawn bare and ready before the first hard frost. There is a certain pleasure in a yard cleared right down to green while the trees along the old gas-boom streets stand stripped and bright. It is the kind of service a small town depends on and rarely has to think about. Loren's serves Elwood and its neighbors.
