There is no perfume quite like a June lawn cut at eight in the morning, when the air off Simonton Lake is still cool and the day hasn't decided to be hot yet. Fresh Cut Lawns LLC chases that exact hour all summer long across Elkhart's north side and beyond. The name is the standard: every visit should leave a yard smelling and looking newly made — even stripes, trimmed borders, walks blown clean. Lake-country grass drinks well and grows fast, so the schedule stays tight and the blades stay sharp. By the time the boats are out on the water, the morning's lawns are already done, drying bright green in the sun.
