Blakescape

About Blakescape

Elkhart makes more recreational vehicles than anywhere else in the country, and on a winter night the rooflines of those plants along the industrial corridors stay lit long after the surrounding streets have gone dark, waiting on the next shift. Blakescape clears the parking lots and access roads around that same stretch of the city, working through the hours between shift changes so the lots are open when workers arrive. A lake-effect band can drop snow fast and unevenly here, heavy over one plant's lot and barely a dusting two blocks over, so a route through Elkhart's industrial streets has to move by feel as much as forecast. Getting a lot cleared corner to corner before the morning shift pulls in keeps a factory town's rhythm from missing a beat. It's plain, useful work in a city built on keeping things moving.
