About Garcia's Tree Service LLC

The wind that comes off Lake Michigan into East Chicago doesn't need much encouragement to turn a light snow into a squall, whipping past the mill stacks along the harbor and down into the grid of streets around Indiana Harbor. Garcia's Tree Service LLC works those same city blocks in winter, clearing driveways and walks while that lake wind is still finding its way between the houses. Trees along residential streets here carry salt spray as often as frost, and a heavy wet snow off the lake can bow a branch fast enough to need clearing before it ever reaches the ground on its own. Getting a walk or a driveway open while the wind is still gusting off the water takes a particular kind of patience. By the time the mill shift changes, the streets this crew has worked are already showing clear pavement under the gray harbor light.
