Meridian Grounds

About Meridian Grounds

Fog settles along the Meridian Street corridor on early fall mornings, softening the office parks and the old houses alike, and the grounds crews are out in it before it lifts. Meridian Grounds takes its name from Carmel's spine and its work from everything on either side of it: mowing and edging kept to a schedule, turf feeding, shrub and bed maintenance, leaves managed as they come down. Grounds work is different from yard work — it is the practice of keeping a property presentable every single day, not just the day after a visit. From 96th Street up toward Westfield, the properties that look composed at eight in the morning are the ones somebody was walking at seven.
