About Sizemore Outdoor Services

Brookville Lake sits mostly empty of boats by the time the first real snow comes, its ramps chained shut and the ridges above the water gone quiet for the season. Sizemore Outdoor Services works the hillside driveways and lake-access roads that wind down toward the reservoir, where a grade that's easy in October turns treacherous the first hard freeze of the year. Franklin County's hills mean snow doesn't fall evenly — a driveway shaded by the ridge can hold ice for a week after the open fields have gone bare — so this crew reads each property on its own terms. Clearing a steep lake-road drive here is a different job than a flat one in town, more about traction than speed, and getting it right means a homeowner isn't sliding sideways toward the water come morning. It's satisfying work, watching gravel or blacktop reappear switchback by switchback down toward a lake that won't see another boat until spring.
