About A1 Landscape & Hauling Inc

The limestone that built courthouses and university halls across this part of the country came out of quarries around Bloomington, and some of the old cuts have long since filled in as quarry lakes ringed with gray rock. A1 Landscape & Hauling works the neighborhoods that grew up near those old quarries, plowing driveways cut close to the stone edges and hauling snow away from tight lots with nowhere left to pile it. A loader clears a full lot in the time a shovel would take on a single drive, and hand shoveling covers the walks a machine can't reach. Salt goes down on porch steps built, more than a few of them, from the same limestone dug out of the ground nearby. This stretch of town holds winter differently than the rest of Bloomington does — heavier against the stone, lighter over the water still holding its color under the ice.
