Michael Kerr Excavating runs those roads all winter, plowing driveways cut into hillsides where the wrong angle sends a truck toward the ditch instead of the yard. It's careful, low-gear work: blade lifted just enough to clear gravel without tearing it up, salt scattered on the steepest stretch of walk so a trip to the mailbox doesn't end in a fall. Some of these drives see one vehicle a day, and this crew makes sure it isn't the only tire track in fresh snow by noon. The hills make the job harder and, most mornings, more worth doing right.
