Snyder's Tractor Services

About Snyder's Tractor Services

Bicknell grew up on Knox County coal, and the town still keeps a working person's sense of when a road ought to be open. When a winter storm crosses the open fields of southwestern Indiana and leaves snow across driveways and lots, Snyder's Tractor Services heads out with the tractor to move it. Snow this far south often comes heavy and wet, the kind that packs into ice if it sits, so the job is to push it early and stack it well back from the drive. The low rumble of the engine and a sweep of headlights through falling flakes are part of a Bicknell winter morning. By the time folks are heading out, the drive is open down to the gravel or the blacktop, its sides squared and ready for the day.
