Koch's Lawn Service

About Koch's Lawn Service

The first cut of April is the best one. In Batesville it comes after a string of soft gray rains, when the grass jumps overnight and the whole town smells like wet earth and new growth. Koch's Lawn Service is out in it — clearing winter's sticks and matted leaves, opening up the beds, and laying down that first set of mower lines across turf that's been waiting since November. From there the season builds: steady mowing through the surge of May, trimming that keeps walks and drives sharp, and the slow taper into fall. Every year the land here wakes up eager, and there's real satisfaction in being the one who tidies it into shape.
