About Stacy's Lawn Care LLC

Late August in Austin, the water tower catches the last orange light and the whole town smells like cut clover and supper. Stacy's Lawn Care LLC likes that hour — the second pass of the season winding down, trimmers going quiet one yard at a time along the side streets off Highway 31. This is porch country, where a lawn is the front room of the house, and the work is treated that way: mowed full, trimmed tight against the walks, cleaned up so nothing is left but green. Weekends, half the town heads out toward Hardy Lake; the yards they come home to on Sunday evening are the point of the job. Grass grows fast in a Scott County summer. Keeping ahead of it, week after week, is its own kind of satisfaction.
