The Joy of Gardening

About The Joy of Gardening

Spring in Auburn arrives the way it always has in DeKalb County — a softening in the fields west of town, the maples along the old neighborhood streets going green almost overnight. The Joy of Gardening works in that season and every one after it, tending lawns in Auburn with the patience the name promises. There is real delight in the work itself: the first cut of April, beds mulched dark against new grass, a yard that looks loved from the sidewalk. This is a town where people still walk to Eckhart Park on a warm evening, and a well-kept lawn is part of that unhurried life. From the courthouse neighborhoods out to the edge of the corn ground, they bring care to the growing things.
