Cal and Shan's Landscape and Design

About Cal and Shan's Landscape and Design

December comes down over the Woodstock Square in the late afternoon, and the lamps go on around the bandstand while the storm is still deciding how serious it means to be. Cal and Shan's Landscape and Design is out in it, plowing lots, cutting sidewalks down to the brick, spreading salt where an evening crowd will put its feet. There is a real satisfaction in a path that runs true from the door to the car, and they chase it. Snow keeps its own schedule, so the trucks stay ready through the night and go out again at first light. The town wakes to streets and drives it can actually move through.
