Martin's Landscaping & Tree service

About Martin's Landscaping & Tree service

Once Wonder Lake freezes over, the wind stops bothering with trees and comes straight across the ice onto the ridge roads and the shore lanes. Martin's Landscaping & Tree service runs the storm hours out there — plowing driveways and private lanes, clearing walks and steps, and salting the pitched approaches that glaze first. Lake-effect squalls here can drop more on one side of town than the other, so the route gets rerun until every drive is actually open, not just started. There is a particular quiet in a driveway cleared before sunrise, with the lake still dark and nobody awake yet to see it. Wonder Lake and the roads out toward McHenry, Ringwood, Johnsburg and Woodstock.
