About Salazar Snow Removal

There is a blue half hour just before dawn after a heavy night, when Wheeling's side streets sit unbroken and the only sound anywhere is a shovel scraping two houses down. Salazar Snow Removal is often the reason it stays that quiet: plow through the drive first, then the walk and the stoop and the path out to the mailbox finished by hand, the way the tight corners of a cul-de-sac demand. Salt goes where the ice likes to hide, at the apron and the bottom of a sloped driveway. The measure of a good night is somebody stepping out at seven in ordinary shoes and thinking nothing of it. Cook County winters ask that question over and over, and the answer is to be there over and over.
