Schmitt's Landscape Company

About Schmitt's Landscape Company

Late January in DuPage County has a specialty, and it isn't powder — it's the thaw that runs all afternoon and then freezes solid at four o'clock, leaving walks around Northside Park glazed like glass. Schmitt's Landscape Company works against exactly that: plowing the accumulation off first, clearing steps and walks down to the surface so there is nothing left to refreeze, and timing ice control for the hours when the temperature falls back through. Piles get pushed where the runoff won't cross the pavement again. It is unglamorous, watchful work, and it is the difference between a property people move through and one they pick their way across. Morning arrives and everything is simply passable.
