About West Chicago Landscaping

September on the older blocks near the city museum is this town at its most agreeable — warm afternoons, cool mornings, the grass finally growing at a pace a person can keep up with. West Chicago Landscaping takes its name from these streets and works them accordingly: mowing, trimming, edging, refreshing mulch beds and running the cleanups that open and close the year. The newer subdivisions out on the north and west edges get the same routine, just with younger trees and wider lawns to cross. There is a version of a yard that looks like somebody is paying attention to it, and getting a property there — then keeping it there week after week — is the whole job. It shows up in the small things: the line along the driveway, the beds holding their shape, the walk swept before the truck pulls away.
