About Phillip's Tree & Lawn Care, Inc.

Waukegan's older streets are roofed over in maples and oaks planted long before anyone thought about what they would weigh, and in November a hard wind off the lake tests every one of them. Phillip's Tree & Lawn Care, Inc. tends that canopy — pruning for shape and clearance, taking down what has gone unsound, cleaning up limbs after a storm has made its own decisions overnight. The same hands mow and trim the lawns beneath those trees, clear the enormous autumn leaf drop, and then push snow off the drives once the branches are bare. Trees ask for judgment more than force: which cut, which season, how much to leave. Getting that right is what keeps a Waukegan street looking the way it is supposed to look.
