About Guither Tree Service

Turbines turn slow on the horizon north of Walnut, which tells you most of what you need to know about the wind these trees live in. Guither Tree Service works farmsteads and village lots across Bureau County — thinning windbreak evergreens, pruning yard maples that have grown one-sided against the prevailing gusts, taking down the ash and elm that have given out. January is bright, bitter and honest here: frozen ground under the truck, a bare crown easy to read, and the chance to cut trouble out before a spring gale finds it first. After a summer blow the calls come from the farm drives and the back lanes, and the task is to open them, chip the tangle, and leave nothing in the grass to catch a mower blade. A shelterbelt in good order goes on doing its job for decades, and that is worth getting right.
