The Illinois Prairie Path runs the length of Villa Park on the old electric-railway grade, and the yards on either side of it get their grass cut by MTZ Lawncare and Hardscape INC. The work is mowing, edging, string trimming, and seasonal cleanup on the village's tight lots and parkway strips. Summer storms come down the line of trees along Salt Creek and leave the lawns loaded with water, so the week gets rearranged around the sky. A parkway mowed to a single height, curb to sidewalk, is the sort of small order that makes a whole street look cared for. Fall brings the maples down in a rush, and the leaves get pulled off the turf before the first hard frost seals them there.
