About Midland Snow & Ice Management

Salt Creek runs cold and dark at the edge of town while the lots up along North Avenue fill in with plowed-under cars. Midland Snow & Ice Management works Villa Park after hours, when the storefronts are dark and the sodium lights turn falling snow orange — plowing lots and drives, stacking piles where they will not block a sightline, clearing walks, laying salt ahead of the freeze. Storms in this corner of the county rarely quit politely; they taper, sit a while, then come back around midnight. Somebody has to be out in that so the first car in at six finds a lane and a clear path to the door. The whole job is finished before anyone is awake to watch it.
