About Grounduppo

Freight has run through Venice for as long as the town has stood, and the rails still stitch the bottoms together on their way out to the river bridges. Grounduppo works the ground beside all that iron, mowing, trimming, edging walks and drives, and clearing cuttings so they land back in the grass and not in the gutter. The name says where the job starts, from the ground up, one pass at a time, week after week through the whole growing season. Cleanups bracket the year, the winter's leftovers going out in March and the leaf load handled in November. A lot mowed on a rhythm never has to be rescued, and that is the argument for showing up.
