Barber Bros Mowing

About Barber Bros Mowing

Mid-July, and Tolono sits under a sky so wide the heat seems to arrive from every direction at once; out where the rail lines cross, the steel shimmers. Barber Bros Mowing runs the season's hottest weeks the way they have to be run — early starts, sharp blades, the deck set high so the turf shades its own roots through a Champaign County dry spell. Cicadas take over the afternoon, and a mown yard stands out against the corn like something deliberately kept. Pride shows up in a straight pass across a big open lot, and more in the trim work nobody notices until it is missing. Mowing here is not decoration; it is how a place tells you somebody is home.
