About Goldsmith Lawn & Landscaping

Morning fog comes up off the Mississippi and hangs in the hollows below the bluff until the sun finally burns through it. Goldsmith Lawn & Landscaping works that river-town ground in Thebes, where yards tilt toward the water and the old courthouse keeps its perch above the channel and the rail line. Cutting on a slope is its own skill — passes set across the grade, trimming carried down banks and around limestone outcrops and hardwood roots, edges cut clean where a walk meets a hill that never quite agreed to be level. Leaves come off these wooded lots by the pile in fall, and the cleanup is thorough because half of it wants to slide back down. A green, even lawn above that much moving water is worth the climb.
