The sandstone courthouse on the square has watched a great many Octobers in Sycamore, and pumpkin week is the one that brings the whole county downtown. Elite Landscape Services spends that stretch on late-season mowing and clearing leaves off walks so the sidewalks stay easy underfoot. Come January the job flips entirely: plowing driveways and lots, cutting a path to the door, laying salt where ice sets up overnight.
