Sterling's older blocks were built with alleys behind them, which means a lawn has two faces and both of them get seen. Jack's Trim and Mow tends to both — mowing the open ground, then working the trimmer along fence pickets, mailbox posts and the strip beside the garage where no mower fits. An edge along a sidewalk, cut sharp, is a small thing that changes how an entire yard reads from the street. Saturday mornings on these blocks sound like engines and birds and not much else. By noon the walks are blown off and the clippings are gone, and the place simply looks right.
