About McCormick Outdoor Services

There is nothing between St. Joseph and the northwest wind but a long run of stubble field, and when it snows the flat country does its ground-blizzard trick — the road disappears, reappears, then fills again. McCormick Outdoor Services works into that on winter mornings, plowing drives and lots clean, cutting paths to doors, salting where melt and refreeze turn a step into a hazard. Out here a drive can be open at four and drifted shut by six, so the route gets checked twice. Getting a household out to US 150 before the buses roll is the entire point. The prairie takes its shots; the pavement still shows up black by daylight.
