June Saturdays at Pottawatomie Park bring the ball games, the paddlewheel and half of St. Charles down to the riverbank. Brother’s Lawn Maintenance spends those same mornings on the neighborhood streets behind the park — mowing in even passes, edging the walks, trimming close around fence posts and the feet of the old silver maples. Grass on the river side grows fast and wants cutting on schedule, so the route runs by the week rather than the whim. Between the mowing months, cleanups empty the beds and gutters of leaves. The reward is a whole block of yards that look like somebody meant them.
