About Century Lawn Care, Co.

The bungalow belt runs for miles out here — brick, low-slung, a bay window and a rectangle of grass repeated house after house until the street disappears. Century Lawn Care, Co. tends that repetition without ever treating it as routine: mowing on a schedule, edges cut clean, trimming around the stoop and the gangway gate, beds kept free of weeds. Early October gives Chicago its finest cutting weather, cool mornings and long gold afternoons, and a lawn taken down properly then holds its shape through the freeze. Leaves come off the parkway before they can turn to paste. The block ends up looking tidy in the precise way a bungalow street was drawn to look.
