About Republic Services of Cahokia

Cold reaches this stretch of St. Clair County on a wind out of the northwest and settles low, the way everything settles low on the bottoms. Republic Services of Cahokia handles the snow end of it around Sauget: pushing lots open, cutting clean lanes to the doors and gates, salting the approaches where tires spin and feet slip. Under the yard lights at four in the morning the falling snow looks like static, and then the blade goes through and there is pavement again. Walks get done by hand, corner to corner, because that is the only way they come out right. When the crossing bells ring at first light, the way in is already open.
