Sandoval has trains running through the middle of it and open farmland at the end of every street, which makes the yards the green in the picture. Green Lawns keeps them that way through the warm months — mowing, trimming, edging walks and drives, and clearing yards out as the season turns. When the year flips, the same ground wants the opposite treatment: plowing driveways and lots, shoveling walks, and salting where ice sets up along the north side of a house. Central Illinois weather does not do long goodbyes; the mower goes away and the plow comes out inside of a few weeks. Either way the standard holds — a place that looks squared away from the street.
