About AC & Son's Tree Service LLC

Rock Island sits where the Rock River finishes its run into the Mississippi, and the bluffs above both are still wooded — oak and hickory standing over Black Hawk's old ground while the barges slide past below. AC & Son's Tree Service works the hill streets and the flat neighborhoods behind them, taking down what has to come down in tight Quad Cities yards and doing the tree trimming and pruning that keeps a big shade tree off the porch roof and clear of the lines. River storms move up the valley fast in July, so storm damage cleanup means a drive cleared, a limb lifted off the garage and the lawn gone over until the place looks settled again by evening. There is craft in dropping a tree between a fence and a garden without touching either one. In January, when the bluff is bare and the river steams, every cut can be read from the street — so they are made to be read.
