About Bluestone Designs, Landscaping & Pavers

West of town the Nippersink Creek loops through low pasture, and by January its bends are stitched shut with ice. Bluestone Designs, Landscaping & Pavers works the season that follows that freeze — plowing drives down to the surface, clearing the front walk and the step where meltwater turns to glass overnight, spreading salt anywhere a car has to stop and a person has to stand. Storms in this corner of McHenry County arrive with a lot of wind behind them, so a lane opened at midnight is a lane worth looking at again by five. The reward is narrow and real: two tidy berms, a driveway you can back out of without thinking, a household that never had to change its plans.
