Reed Township is old coal country turned to water and prairie — the Kankakee running its sandy channel nearby, strip-mine ponds glinting between stands of cottonwood. MTM Unlimited Lawn-care and Landscaping works the yards and drives scattered through all of it. Warm months mean weekly mowing, edging, trimming, and hauling off the debris at both ends of the season, with mulch beds cut back to a clean line. Cold months mean plowing driveways down to the surface, shoveling walks, and putting salt where a north-facing slope refuses to let go of its ice. Same ground twice a year, learned well enough to work it in the dark.
