ZB's Lawn Care

About ZB's Lawn Care

Come October the silver maples along these residential blocks let go all at once, and a Proviso front yard can disappear under leaves in one windy afternoon. ZB's Lawn Care shows up for exactly that — fall cleanup, leaves off the turf and out of the beds, the grass breathing again before the first hard freeze sets in. Through the summer it is the steady work instead: mowing on a schedule, trimming along the fence line and the stoop, edging the walk until the concrete shows its full width. There is something plain and honest about a small city lot done right, the stripes laid straight across thirty feet of grass between two driveways. Spring cleanup opens it all up again, and by May the block looks like itself.
