Wind is the constant out here. It crosses the open flat ground west of Chicago, runs the length of Salt Creek, and threads down the parkway trees and the alleys behind the brick bungalows — a breeze with a whole level county behind it. Verde Breeze Landscaping cuts, trims and edges Proviso lawns in that air, giving the parkway strip, the front square and the narrow side yard the same attention. In June the mowing comes weekly, and the grass gives up its green smell by five o'clock, the shadows of the two-flats stretching long across it. Spring and fall bring the cleanups: beds opened up, leaves and winter debris carried off, the yard handed back looking like someone lives there and means it.
